Creator disclosure and advertising standards

Every piece of content from a TableTalksEU tasting is a paid partnership, and your audience has the right to know. This page explains how to disclose it properly under the rules of the Dutch Reclame Code Commissie. Disclosing honestly is not a burden. Audiences trust creators who are open about it.

What you need to do

  • Add #ad or #gesponsord to every post from a TableTalksEU tasting.
  • Turn on Instagram's Branded Content tag, which shows a Paid Partnership label automatically.
  • Tag the venue and name it in your caption, for example in partnership with the restaurant and TableTalksEU.
  • Be clear and be early. The disclosure should be visible without your audience having to tap to see more.

How to tag properly

  • Post your Reel, TikTok or Story as usual.
  • On Instagram, open the Branded Content option in the caption menu.
  • Tag the venue's account as the partner.
  • Add a caption that names the venue, discloses the partnership and includes #ad.
  • Publish.

Caption templates

Feel free to copy and adapt these. The only rules are a clear #ad or #gesponsord and a venue tag.

  • Spent the evening at [venue] with incredible food. The [dish] was unreal. In partnership with [venue] and @tabletalkseu. #ad #[city]
  • Real recommendation from a real evening at [venue]. Paid partnership with @tabletalkseu. #gesponsord #[city]
  • New favourite in [city]: [venue]. Go for the [dish]. Ad, in partnership with @tabletalkseu. #ad

What happens if you do not disclose

The Reclame Code Commissie can issue warnings for undisclosed advertising. We may also remove non-compliant posts from Discover. Most importantly, trust with your audience suffers. The fix is simple: always disclose.
